Greenville, South Carolina - This year's redistricting process promises to be a battleground for maintaining minority seats in the Statehouse, on County Councils, City Councils and School Boards.

On behalf of the Upstate Minority Redistricting Coalition, I'd like to extend a personal invitation  for you to join us at the Upstate Redistricting Forum on Saturday, March 5, 9:30 am, University Center (formerly McAllister Square) Auditorium. Training will be conducted by the Southern Coalition for Social Justice,http://www.southerncoalition.org/

The State of South Carolina will begin the redistricting process next month. It is imperative our community is prepared for the redrawing of voting lines. We must begin thinking strategically about new voting areas and be prepared to participate in public hearings that will be used as testimony for the Department of Justice to ensure a fair outcome for minority communities.

Please share this information with others.
