Annual Day of Fellowship promotes NPHC Awareness in the Upstate

Upstate NPHC Greek members should wear their Greek lapel pins on February 28th

Greenville, South Carolina - The National Pan Hellenic Council (NPHC) of Greater Greenville is again promoting Greek awareness in the Upstate of South Carolina with its annual “Day of Fellowship” on Sunday, February 28, 2016.

The council is asking all NPHC Greek members to wear their fraternity or sorority lapel pins to their local Church services on February 28th, and to make an announcement in the services about the Council and its eight member chapters, which make up the council in the Upstate Area. A sample church announcement (included below), along with brochures about the Council and a recording of the NPHC Greek Medley are available to churches to use on the Upstate Council website, (www.upstatescpan.org).

For those NPHC members looking for a church service in the area, then following churches are planning recognitions on February 28:

· Poplar Springs Baptist Church in Simpsonville, SC, services start at 11 AM.

· Israel Metropolitan CME Church in Greenville, SC, services start at 10 AM.

· Pilgrim Rest Baptist Church in Greenville, SC, services start at 11 AM.

· Rocky Creek Missionary Baptist Church, Simpsonville, SC at 10 AM.

· Long Branch Baptist Church, Greenville, SC at 9:45 AM.

· Tabernacle Baptist Church, Greenville, SC at 10:20 AM

After their services, NPHC members and their families can fellowship together at Liberty Tap Room, 941 South Main Street, Greenville, SC 29601 from 1 PM to 3 PM. Greek members and their families can RSVP to the gathering at http://dayoffellowship2016.eventbrite.com by Saturday, February 27, 2016.

The National Pan Hellenic Council (www.nphc.org) is a national organization made up of the nine predominantly African-American Greek organizations for College men and women. The local National Pan Hellenic Council (NPHC) of Greater Greenville is again promoting its annual Day of Fellowship between NPHC Greek members in the Greenville Area. All church members who are NPHC Greek members have been asked to wear their NPHC Lapel pins today at their local church services.

The National Pan Hellenic Council (NPHC, www.nphc.org ) is a national organization made up of the nine predominately African-American Greek organizations for college men and women. Some of the famous members of NPHC organizations including Martin Luther King. Jr., Jesse Jackson, Sr., George Washington Carver, Toni Morrison, Minnie Ripperton, Ralph Abernathy, Mary Mcleod Bethune, and Hattie McDaniels.

The NPHC of Greater Greenville (www.upstatescpan.org ) is made up of the ten local chapters of those nine organizations which include the following active members:
