Chapter History

Nu Delta Zeta Chapter was chartered in 1985 after seven progressive women saw the need to organize a suburban chapter in Greenville County, South Carolina.

The public chartering ceremony took place at John Wesley United Methodist Church. Soror Barbara Crockett Moore, South Carolina State Director (now the past 22nd International Grand Basileus of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc.) and Soror Macon Gardner, Southeastern Regional Director conducted the ceremony. Soror Scarlet H. Back the coordinating founder and now the Southeastern Regional Director of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc. was named the first Basileus of the organization. Subsequent Basilei have included Sorors Levelle B. Marshall, Joyce Lewis, and currently Cheryl G. Berry.

Nu Delta Zeta also has many members that are in leadership on the local, state, regional, and/or national levels. For twenty years they have strived to be a community-conscious action-oriented organization.
