 Chapter History

Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority, Inc. is a national non-profit service organization for women founded on the premise of “Greater Service, Greater Progress.” Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority's aim is to enhance the quality of life within the community. Public service, leadership development and education of youth are the hallmark of the organization's programs and activities. Sigma Gamma Rho addresses concerns that impact society educationally, civically, and economically. The Eta Sigma Sigma Alumnae Chapter, based in Greenville SC, was chartered on August 12, 1993. Striving to meet the challenges of the day, the chapter serves the upper state area via the HSS Philanthropy Program. The Program is geared towards educating and empowering underprivileged women and children by providing volunteer and financial assistance to local women and children’s shelters, group homes, breast cancer awareness programs, and local and national scholarship funds.
