ΑΦΑ Greenville Foundation sponsors MLK Gala on Jan. 29th

Greenville South Carolina - Alpha Phi Alpha Greenville Foundation along with Gamma Gamma Lambda Chapter of Alpha Phi Alpha will sponsor its 38th Annual Martin Luther King, Jr. Scholarship Gala on Sunday, January 29, 2017 at the Melvin and Dottie Younts Conference Center on the campus of Furman University.

The Gala features a full course dinner and live entertainment. Recent years have seen the Scholarship Gala positioned as a kickoff event for Martin Luther King activities in Greenville and surrounding areas. However this year the Gala will be held at the end of January.

Proceeds from the Scholarship Gala support the Luke H. Chatman Scholarship for local high students as well fund other community efforts such the MLK Youth Program, Gordon College Fair, and Joseph Vaughn Oratorical Competition. Last year, Bajeyah Eaddy, CEO of CEO/Founder of Standing Against Violence Everyday, Inc. (S.A.V.E), has been selected as the 2016 Martin Luther King, Jr. Citizenship Award winner which was presented at Gala. In addition to presenting the winner of this year's award, the Gala is the longest held annual Commemorative event MLK Holiday for the Upstate and serves the culminating event for the Foundation's fundraising efforts.

Tickets are $50.00 per person (plus card fees)
