Post date: Dec 1, 2014 2:07:12 PM

Greenville, South Carolina - On behalf of the Greenville Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., I would like to invite you all to participate in our "World AIDS Day-Getting to Zero" awareness activity. As you are well aware, Monday, December 1, 2014 is World AIDS Day! On this date, Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. will once again add her voice to the worldwide conversation and support this year's theme: "Getting to Zero: Zero new HIV infections. Zero discrimination. Zero AIDS related deaths". World AIDS Day is recognized annually on Dec 1st nationally.

On Monday, December 1st, the Greenville Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta will pass out literature on HIV/AIDS bringing awareness and to educate our citizens of Greenville. This activity is just one of thousands taking place all across the country as part of our national organization’s World AIDS campaign focus on "Zero AIDS related deaths" which signifies a government call to action as well as a push toward greater access to treatment.

The outreach begins at 6:30 pm in front of the Peace Center. We are excited about this informal activity to engage in dialog with our community and share brochures on understanding how to prevent the transmission of HIV and how to manage your health. Other community leaders and representatives of the media have also been invited to attend. I hope you too will consider joining us on this important day.

Sincerely,

Angel C. Pendergrass, President

Greenville (SC) Alumnae Chapter
